Yee Sang
Chinese New Year is nearby! Usher in Chinese New Year with Malaysian most famous starter dish, Yee Sang. Yee Sang is the renowned Malaysian starter dish for Chinese New Year. Yee Sang meant raw fish and is known raw fish salad. All Chinese restaurants in Malaysia will serve this dish for Chinese New Year until the fifteen day of Chinese New Year.
The dish is fantastic with lots of prickles, slices of vegetables, groundnuts, herbs and the best is the Yee Sang Sauce and lastly is the raw fish. It’s best taken with your friends, colleagues or families and “Loh Sang” together. All at the table will toss the Yee Sang together as high as possible into the air with own chopstick to mix all the ingredients and say “Loh Sang”. “Loh Sang” as in Cantonese meant “toss to prosperity”.
Note : Is suitable for vegetarian and Muslim.
For non vegetarian, raw fish is to slice thinly and add in to Yee Sang before tossing.
For vegetarian, please remove prickle leek.

Ingredients :-
Yee Sang One Portion.
Red Ginger, White Ginger, China Cucumber, Pickled Leek and Papaya Shredded.
(1) Groundnuts, Sesame Seed, Pok Chui, Fried Red Yam and Green Yam.
(2) Pepper and Cinnnamon Powder.
(3) Ready mixed Yee Sang Sauce.
Sub Ingredient : Radish (Red and White) – Shredded and pat dry fish slice.
Add some corianders and spring onions. Squeeze 2 slices of lime juice.
Method To Prepare :
- Start from (1). Dish out and drain. Arrange onto plate.
- The radish will put in the middle of the (1). Follow with (2) and raw fish slice on top of the radish. Also garnish with coriander and spring onion
- Sprinkle (3) on the top and finally mix with Yee Sang Sauce and serve.
