Keris
The Keris or Kris as it is sometimes known as a dagger and unique to the Malay world. It is found in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Southern Thailand, Brunei (Darussalam) and some other areas in the region. Keris as you can see from the picture is a double edge dagger with an asymmetrical base of the blade and a tang which fits into a hilt. The front side of the blade goes rather straight down. Typically, the Keris is linked to the Malay silat in olden times in Malaysia. Keris is now use for decorations and as official gifts.
